The V series uses a vertical shaft impactor that accelerates material against anvils or a rock bed, while the T series uses a horizontal-shaft tertiary impact crusher that reduces material against breaker plates and accepts a larger feed (up to 150 mm). VSI plants such as the V-70 are commonly preferred where feed is highly abrasive and fine shaping is the priority. The choice depends on feed abrasiveness, available feed size, and the required gradation.
Wear parts and maintenance
As a vertical shaft impactor, the V-70 has consumable wear parts associated with the rotor and chamber. Typical considerations include:

The V-70 carries its hopper, crusher, screen and conveyors on a single chassis and runs as a sand making stage downstream of primary and secondary crushing. Oversize material is returned to the crusher by the feedback conveyor, and sized products are discharged by the stockpile conveyors.
